Academic Therapy

Academic therapy is beneficial for a wide variety of students. We use research-based techniques to teach students effective learning strategies and help them become more confident and independent learners. Through formal and informal assessments, we develop individualized lessons that address each student’s unique strengths and areas of need. Academic therapy can support students with learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD, as well as students who simply need to strengthen foundational skills or fill academic gaps.

Lesson objectives may include developing study skills, strengthening executive functioning skills, increasing reading comprehension, improving writing mechanics, and developing verbal and written expression. Lessons are individualized to meet the student’s specific needs and may address multiple areas of academic development. Therapy sessions are 45–60 minutes long, and we recommend that students meet twice a week.
